Patients for a Moment: Nicest things edition

I am delighted to welcome you to the latest edition of the patient-centered blog carnival, Patients For A Moment.

I am so glad that you could all make it. When I heard about the need for hosts and hostesses of PFAM, I immediately thought it would be a wonderfully fun thing to do.   And it is!  Thank you, Leslie.

I knew you, dear reader, would be as interested and encouraged and excited as I am to read about the nicest thing (or things) that have happened to persons who have an ilness or (unfortunately) ilnesseses.  Participating bloggers wrote about who has made a positive difference in their life.  I am certain you will enjoy these posts as much as I have.

Allow me to introduce you to this edition’s esteemed bloggers.  Enjoy!

At Transform Your Chronic Life, Wendy Burnett thanks her Best Friends in the World for the priceless gifts they’ve given her.

In his post, In sickness, mostly, Duncan Cross describes the bright spot in his life at a time when he was told: “tell your loved ones right now: you could die.”

Joanna Isbill  details the impact of Snack Packs versus words in her Dear Thyroid blog post titled When Words Have Meaning

Bibliotekaren of Arranging Shoes has much to be grateful for including a selfless neighbor who tells her “Listen, I have a kid. This is no problem.”

At Lipstick, perfume and too many pills, Nessie reflects on the loving support she’s received from her husband as well as what the future will bring in the post Just you and me and the road ahead.

Kirsten of Not Standing Still’s Disease has been battling illness since childhood.  She describes the 18 years of support and nice things she’s received and how a newer relationship has brought extra special “Nice Things” to her life

In a sweetly written account of the value of Mom’s advice, Shweta posts “Mommy Rules” at its no more in my head.

Humanity, the compassion of the people who have been a part of her story is the theme of Maria Pfeifer’s post A Cautionary Tale at My Life Works Today! A Living, Learning and Lupus Network.

In the post “I’m Sick!  Is That A Problem For You?” at Getting Closer To Myself, Leslie differentiates her experiences with people who see her illness as an inconvenience and those who see it as just one component of who she is.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Warrior, Kelly Young, announces her three Honorable Mentions and a Grand Prize Winner for the nicest/best RA support.  They’re all winners to me!

May I have a round of applause for all of our bloggers?

Do something nice for yourself today.

Patients for a Moment is an excellent opportunity to get to know fellow patient bloggers and to share yourself with others.

Read it.  Write it.  Submit it.

Be sure to visit Patients for a Moment for ongoing post submission opportunities.  The next edition will be August 11, 2010 at It’s no more in my head

Thank you for allowing me to contribute.

Good day,
