I mentioned “Patients for a Moment” – a patient-centered blog carnival for/by/about patients in a recent post.
The anthology post is officially up and you can read patient responses at Getting Closer to Myself. The responses are
great – go check them out!
I’m honored to share the news that I, the Queen of Optimism, will be hosting the next edition of Patients for a Moment. (Gasp!)
Thank you to Leslie and Duncan Cross for the opportunity. I’m thrilled!
As host, I get to ask the next question about illness. I will receive submissions and select submissions that answer the question. I will post the collection of posts on July 28th.
So, I have been thinking about my question a lot and here it is:
What is the nicest thing (or things) anyone has done for you since you became ill?
Becoming ill changes our relationships with people we love and trust. Who has made a positive difference in your life and what did they do? It can be a small or grand gesture. It could be a family member, a pet, a health professional – whatever you come up with! It’s up to you. Sharing your experience can help other patients as well as people who are seeking to show support to someone they know who is ill.
If you are a medical professional who would like to respond, please consider this question in the context of the nicest thing a patient has done for you.
Please consider submitting a post. As you write your post, keep these tips in mind:
Say only as much as you want to say: There is no word count requirement and your post will be most authentic and helpful when you remove unnecessary limits and stress.
Relax: If you find yourself tiring as you write, set it aside and continue later.
Speak from the heart: Write what you want to write, not what you think others expect you to write.
Say it your way: There is no wrong style and no wrong answers.
To submit your post, simply e-mail the information below to sickysickerson@gmail.com (that’s me!):
- Your name (as you would like it to appear)
- Your blog’s name
- Your post’s title
- Your post’s URL
Please be sure to put “PFAM” in the subject line.
All submissions wishing to be considered need to be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 25th.
You’ve got plenty of lead time so I expect to receive lots of submissions!
With care and support,
